You know how (dr) John is always defending play-by-play announcers, like he’s some annoying announcer himself? That’s because he is. Dig Robert Smith stealing one for UC Riverside at Montana State yesterday. Plenty of good seats still available in Bozeman!


Oklahoma State head women’s basketball coach and an assistant coach were killed in a small plane crash in central Arkansas. Kurt Budke and assistant Miranda Serna were among 4 killed after a single engine plane went down last night, according to Oklahoma State. There were no survivors of the crash.

Oklahoma State lost 10 members of the school’s men’s basketball team in a 2001 plane crash.


Looks like Andrew Luck isn’t the only Cardinal student-athlete with accuracy down field. Dig Gabriel Harris’ effort for Stanford against Colorado State just before halftime. The bomb brought Stanford within two points at intermission. Stanford went on to win at home over the Rams 64-52.


The USS Carl Vinson’s flight deck is the foundation upon which hardwood now rests. It’s the Carrier Classic, with North Carolina playing Michigan State today in an early-season college basketball celebration of Veterans Day. Pretty cool, no?


University of San Diego basketball’s all-time leading scorer Brandon Johnson has pleaded not guilty to bribery charges. Johnson was one of ten people named in a federal indictment for bribery and marijuana distribution. He could face up to 10 years in jail.


St. John’s head basketball coach Steve Lavin is a friend of the Robert Wuhl Show. He has appeared numerous times on our air, and is unanimously regarded as a great guy.

St. John’s announced today that Coach Lavin is battling prostate cancer.
